No it’s not kryptonite, silly cyclist.
We’re talking about brakes! Specifically, the brakes we equipped our new INVINCIBLE bike with!
Our new bike is INVINCIBLE.
Our riders, much to our dismay, are most certainly not : (
But that’s OK! In fact, that’s why we prioritized equipping INVINCIBLE with a premium “anti-crash mechanism.”
For those of you more familiar with bikes, you may refer to them as “brakes.”
Let’s take a deeper look at the brakes we chose, and why we chose them:
8Speed:
Have you ever ridden a bike with disc brakes? It’s an experience unto itself.
The stopping power and responsiveness feels makes it feel like a superhero’s bike, and when they get wet, they still provide great grip.
This was another instance where we found inspiration in cyclocross bikes, which perform better in mud.
If our frame geometry permitted, we would’ve put discs on the 1Speed, too (we’ll explain more later).
1Speed:
We’re often asked “Why don’t you have a fixed gear?”
Because we love bikes with proper brakes (no offense fixie-heads, we still love you!).
That’s why our 1Speed has dual pivot caliper brakes. They’re more expensive than linear pull brakes and cantilever brakes, but they’re also more reliable. And when it comes to brakes, reliability matters. A lot.
And c’mon - the dual-caliper brakes just look badass!
So remember, INVINCIBLE isn’t some off-the-shelf beater with nifty integrated features. Every aspect of it, including the brakes, is specifically designed to provide you the ultimate city ride.
