Gotham Bicycle Defense Industries launched on Kickstarter (the 2min bike light video is fun to watch) a year ago with the world’s first anti-theft bike light. Now we’re building more products for urban cyclists and looking for talented MechE to join our team at the Senior Engineer / CTO level / Technical Co-founder level.
What you’ll bring:
- A love for biking
- Brilliance and creativity
- Awesome bike product ideas
- Experience with mechanical design of products in Solidworks
- Experience with rapid-prototyping
- Building prototypes with your own hands: (3D printing, wood working, machining, etc).
- Experience in designing for manufacturing bike products
- Experience with managing overseas manufacturing is a plus (our factories are in China)

Slava- I tried to connect with you about a great idea with a lot of potential. IHome used to make an encapsulated Ipod holer/player with a speaker that was battery operated. Those of us, like me, who commute 4,000 Miles/year, want to jam out to tunes, but also need to hear traffic and when other cyclists say “On your left”.
The electronics in the former IHome version, would fail after 3,000 miles or so, due to road vibration. They no longer make this model as the new Iphone and Ipod, do not fit it. So there’s a great market out there of guys like me that continue to use their ipod and want to ride safely and listen to tunes. I have two of these former units and would be willing to send one if for you to get a look at it, features, etc. I’m sure you could build something better.
