Before they were first in flight, Orville and Wilbur manufactured bike gear. We need their manufacturing talent applied to modern day bike products.

We’re seeking a technical advisor or consultant who will help us revolutionize urban cycling. We need manufacturing, engineering and DFM help more than business help. Subsequently, this consultant will do more than give abstract advice, but rather get his/her hands dirty and stay ahead of QC problem.

Specifically (s)he will have the 10+ years of the following:

  • Wide experience in various materials, including aluminum, steel, rubbers and various plastics
  • Experience with consumer products that have a mechanical element to them
  • Experience manufacturing product launches overseas
  • DFM expertise in injection molding, CNC machining, and especially metal die casting
  • 10+ years living, breathing, and talking draft angles, wall thicknesses, parting lines and much more complex stuff that we don’t understand
  • Design skills that will prevent product failure in the field

If it’s a company the following are nice to haves:

  • Ability to speak Chinese, or has a bilingual contact on their team
  • Presence in both the US & China - the US for quick service, and China for “boots on the ground”
  • History of negotiating successful and challenging relationships with various overseas suppliers
